Carlos Sanchez’s music wouldn’t sound out of places like Japan, Berlin, Amsterdam, Ibiza, Madrid, to name a few, and indeed, his intricate Underground House constructions have caught attention of regular visitors to those countries, including Villalobos, Raresh, Steve Bug, Richie Hawtin, Danny Tenaglia, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Dan Ghenacia, Shonky, Dyed Soundorom, Franck Roger, Terence Terry, D’Julz, Audiofly and each of whom have alternately played and praised them at length.
This prowess has manifested in a prolific release schedule consisting on labels such as 8bit Records, Plastic City, Supernature, Terrence:Terry:’s flagship La Vie En Rose (with remix of the big shot Jovonn), Akbal Music, Time Has Changed, Inmotion Music, Overall Music, Lust Recordings, Superfancy Recordings, etc.
As a DJ, he’s set his sights equally high, appearing at storied venues such as GOA Fabrik (Madrid), Vinyl Club (Switzerland), Warehouse702 (Japan), Clapper (Japan), Weekend (Berlin), Treibgut (Hannover/Germany) and Studio 80 (Amsterdam) to entertain crowds with his deep, driving sets. Carlos is a solid concept of the timeless word (musically speaking). His ability to transcend genres and trends has seen him hold one of the most consistent levels. Undoubtedly, one of the most versatile, deep and energetic djs .
However, Carlos in fact hails from Gran Canaria, and it’s here that the Spaniard mastered his trade lending his productions a rare musicality without straying into self-indulgence. Which isn’t to say that he can’t move a crowd. Nick Curly singled out Carlos’ relentless ‘Put Your Soul In Front’ as his go-to dancefloor-filler, and elected to include the track in his recent Defected compilation- a pretty serious endorsement from the Mannheim maestro.
